I Just Wish I Knew

I seem to get inspired at night... Especially on week nights. I wonder what my teachers would say about that when I would tell them: "No, Mr. Fill-In-The-Blank, I'm not tired because I stayed up watching reruns of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians;' I'm tired because my brain decided to create something magical: an idea." What if, somehow, when we are born, God would give us a list of what is going to happen to us in the future. Who we would meet, who we would be, where we would go. Wouldn't that make life just so much easier? Our decisions would be made for us because God would know what would be good for us. I guess that would just take the creativity out of life... But it's interesting to think about.

I'm struggling at the moment, thinking about my future. I am a high school senior, about to enter the real world. What is the right path? I wish that wasn't a rhetorical question. Should I be a writer, a designer, or an artist? How can I make an impact on the world? I know I want to leave my mark; I know I was born for a reason. But what reason? I just wish I knew.

And as I begin to close, may I leave you with this very relevant quote:

  1. Oh darlin, I hear you. i thinkj we all struggle with trying to figure out what direction to go when we hit that College era. But thankfully, thats the time to find out. We don't have to kjnow regardless of all the adults pressuring us at that age and asking us our plans. Because honestly, it changes. Last year I wanted to be a pyschologist. This year, I want to be an English major. Who knews where life will take you! It's a learning experience, and lijke you said; "Not all who wander are lost." So sit back and enjoy where the roads take you. :) It'll be ok, you will find out someday.

  2. So fortunate Keeping up with the Kardashians wasn't on when I was in school :-) I'd be tired from staying up and watching it too :-) I was once in your place, the future can be a scary and intimidating place...but approach it with a positive attitude and you will be able to confront anything coming your way!
